What are the council requirements for resource consent or building consent?

  1. Appropriate forms to be filled and signed by the owner of the property and sent along with consent drawings. forms are available on auckland council’s website to download or we will fill out forms for you at the time of application lodgement.         
  2. Consent application fees to be paid along with the application. These fees are based on the value of the work to be done. The cheque has to be made in the name of “Auckland City Council”. Council needs a deposit for building consent or resource consent application lodgement. You can visit the council website to find the deposit amount or we can advise you once your project is ready for lodgement.
  3. Council needs a “CERTIFICATE OF TITLE” for your property which is not older than 90 days of application date. (space designers ltd can arrange for this on cost)

What is the Building Consent Process?

Council has appointed external consultants to process building consent applications on no extra cost. These consultants act as an agents between council and owner. We recommend to use this service which helps us to deal and follow up with them.

Waitakere district council, Papakura district council and Northshore council does not have this facility. We still need to send consent application direct to them.
